Default Asking UPS about a delivery?

hey guys,
I'm scheduled to receive a driveshaft tomorrow and the tracking says everything is up to date, its "on the truck"
the reason for this thread is, I dont wanna have to brew a pot of coffee, grab a fresh pack of smokes and live at my front door all day. and I dont wanna/cant chance missing this delivery and getting some "customs due" sticker and not a package left behind.
can I call UPS and ask if theres any duties/fee/customs and pay them in advance so if by chance i'm not home he can leave the package? would they know a time for delivery or is it like the cable guy and its sometime between 7AM-7PM haha?
I checked on the site and kinda get the run around and no definite "call this number"

There's no good answer for your question. The people that will actually talk to you have no idea about the particulars of your package. UPS is very inflexible in a situation like yours. Worst case scenario is you have them hold the package at their local facility in case you miss it and then go pick it up later.

if i am not around when my goodies come i leave a note on the door saying its okay to leave the package. although all of my shipping fees are paid upfront so i have never had to pay them when it arrives. id at least leave a note saying its okay to leave it there and hope you dont have to pay anything. its better than doing nothing at all. just my .02 hope it helps

Here in the US they will either leave the package or leave sticky note on your door. It says they tried to deliver it and they will try again tomorrow. It also has a number that if you want to pick it up at your local UPS hub you can call and they will let you know when it comes off the truck for you to pick it up.

You can call the main distribution center and ask that they hold your package there, then you go pick it up.

Ups and FedEx drivers have a route and a schedule. Typically, they'll be in the same place every day, give or take an hour, at the same time. If you know generally when they are around, then you have your window.

Any time something is shipped to my house, I will call and have them hold it, so they don't keep coming. Otherwise I have it shipped to my shop

All my shipping is paid its just sometimes here in canada you get duties added on for importing or ups decides to add fees. And if there's money owed they don't leave the package just a sticker which I'd like to avoid!
So can anybody tell I'm anxious to receive that driveshaft haha.
When I go out for breakfast I'm gonna leave a note saying I need the package and ill leave my visa number for the fees.
He comes at random *** times that's my issue. Sometimes 1PM sometimes 7PM but its almost always after lunch

Usually the drives don't collect any fees themselves, UPS will send you a bill if you owe any more fee's. Leave a note saying it's ok to leave it and put your cell number on it. It's up to the drive if he wants to or not. Most of them will.
