anything I should checkout while I'm in Hawaii?

Go to Maui and rent a jeep and go do the road to hona. That is one of the most awsome things I have ever done. I also did a Helo tour that was really cool. It was a replica of the Magnum PI Helocopter!

Actually he's a carpenter on the north end of the island. He can tell you where the good places are that the locals hang out at. Been a long time since I spoke to him, but I'll see if I can find a number for him. If I find it I'll pm you.
Hurry back, we miss you around here

Where you gonna stay, Halle Koa? (not sure on the spelling). If so, there's a little known museum in an old fort just down the street, at the very end of Waikiki. . Gotta check out the sub museum, Mighty MO, and of course the Pearl Harbor museum. Just missed out on a dive on the Arizona, that would have been AWSOME!! Don't know of much automotive stuff, though. The only one I heard of is Hawaii Raceway Park in Eva Beach, but you said you saw where it might be closed. There might be some late night canyon racing around. Traffic's pretty crazy, though
