I've got a neighbor 2 houses down that does pretty good. No idea about all the details, but I've heard the retirement is worthy.

Here's the deal. A long long time ago it was an honor to be a postman (screw PC) and he was an honorable man (or woman, jeesh!) who delivered the mail rain or shine, hell or high water. To be a Postal worker you had to pass an incredibly long and hard civil service test and be able to speak English.

Things are a bit different these days but I would say go for it, if you can get in you are set for life. Pay may not be great but benefits are super. Good luck!

Listen, I looked at that study guide on line, and I'd rather take the NASD Series 6 again, at least it made sense to me.

you sure about that starting pay, then again it could be different pending on where you reside at, my aunt works for the post office and barely makes over that and shes been with them for 26 years now.. on the other hand there matching contributions is perfect there matched 2$ bux to 1$ now if she only had me as her beneficary it would be perfect it lol

i passed the exam 15 years ago, but turned it down to work for diamond shamrock refinery, at the time lmao then it sells out wtf!!!!

all in all if you have the opertunity go for it, the test is a comprehensive skills type test, even though youre graded on it, it depends on what aspects you pass on, meaning common sense will get a long way, kinda like a no failing exam.. anyway good luck, and yeah it would be a good idea if you know someone, probably make it easier for being hired ....

I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard there is possible some racial discrimination against whites when it comes to getting in the PS.

The pay is actually good despite what you may have heard. The insurance is good, and the retirement is good. I only know because I work for the govt and their pay scale comes out with ours as well as their insurance. The work is not hard. I know of two girls that were highschool dropouts, got their GED and started a route. Eventually they worked up to being in the post office. If they made it, shouldn't be too hard.LOL.
