3/4 Race CAM question...
#12
My step-dad is that way. He knows "quarter lift", "half lift", "three-quarter lift". I told him the lift specs of the LS6 cam and he shrugged.
Has to be just something with the ol' timers. And he's about 55. Hehe.

Damn I was going to rip your *** for using that term.I can't talk engine mechanics to most people especially old timers cause I get too frustated.Hell even mechanics **** me off.

A friend of mine rebuilds SBC's and resales them. In his craigslist ad's he uses that terminology simply because the people that call him don't understand anything else. His RV cam is like a comp cam 240 to a 268 depending on what he has on the shelf.

LOL... Jerry the owner of Scnieder Cams here in San Diego always says **** like that...The first cam he ground for my 370 in my SSS was like almost 240 duration with only 560 lift

lol... some coworkers are very old school and they told me that i needed to put a RV cam in my 71' c10 if i wanted it to be drivable in the street! lol...
this is the same guy that had a 86 GT gutted out with a cage running 13.2 n/a and 11.9 on the juice... when he found out what my truck ran he was speechless...
but he still argues that old school motors are the way to go! lol....
