AT tire size on 17"s on 02 Z71 Tahoe
#1
Need a new set of tire for the family car... Has 265/70/17's on it now (stock size), not sure what size you all would recommend. They're almost 32" by 11" or so. I am leaning towards terra grapplers or even better yet, BFG A/T's. They need to last a decent amount of time for on-road, and work like a champ in sand (at the tunes) and mud. Recommendations? Thanks friends!

Thats what my ford is running now and i think i am going to go up to either 285 or 295 bfg all terrains. I have always had good luck with bfg as long as you keep them rotated. my last set went 65k miles and i sold the truck with them on it with tread still left.

The BFG ATs on my last truck lasted me 30K miles. I swapped a set of wheels when I sold the truck and sold the BFG tires to my neighbor. They are still on his truck right now (probably ~50k total now). I don't know how the Nitto's compare on lifespan although they seem like a good tire also.

beware of the bfg throwin rocks and everthing else you run over. if you go through some gravel or somethin they will hold a rock until you get up to 70 or 80 then you hear the infamous BAM and wonder what it hit. you cant beat them for on or offroad as a dd. and they do last a long time

Awesome, I got a set of 285/70/17's BFG TA KO's put on it last week. They seem to work like a champ, but they do throw rocks like hell like you said. Thanks for the recommendations guys!
