Default Rebuilding trans...what parts to buy???

Transmission burned out earlier this year on the way home from Glamis and it's finally time to rebuild.

Truck is a '96 Silverado with a 6" suspension lift on 33" tires. Motor is the 5.0L Vortec and 4L60E tranny.

Truck basically sees street use with occasional towing of 2-3 quads.

I'm pretty sure I want to add a shift kit and a torque converter to help with the towing, but don't know which one.

Anything else I should add while it's out???

Thanks.

i would go with a transgo. contact chuck or vince from Finish line Transmissions. They will take care of you.

Whatever you do put an external filter in the cooler return line and get a bigger cooler than stock. I had my 60e die on my home from Pismo a couple months back as well, just slipped right through a 4-3 downshift and finished off that clutch pack. I went the no more 60e route though.
