I have just about every part that I need to solid axle swap my GMC. I just geared my axles, Dana 44 front, spool, 4:56 gears, and 14 bolt rear, 4:56 gears. I have my springs and shocks for the front, I'm gonna start to fabricate my hangers for the rear today, then I will build the front crossmember next, then the ifs will hit the floor, and its on!
and somewhere in the middle i need to change my top end to either vortec or tpi too....

For your vortec swap I highly recommend running the TBI with the Vortec longblock. Check out www.tbi-chips.com for the results of doing so. BTW have fun with the swap, I am getting close to being done with mine.

What are you going to do about turning with that spool up front when you have the hubs engaged?
May I suggest a clocking ring for the 208? The OOB trucks t-cases are clocked a bit lower than the OBS trucks cases so the result is the front output being deirectly behind the tranny crossmember. The clocking ring lets you clock it up just above it, works well.
I will be watching for pic's

I'm sorry I havent been on for a while. I got the vortec swap done , and the axle swap underway, pics will be up very soon.I drove the truck with the vortec for a few weeks, then i pulled it in last weekend for the axle swap, and wound up getting a smokin deal from a buddy for a GM perfromance intake, and a truck avnger, so we pulled the whole interior out and the engine raised out yesterday. The vortec was working good, I decided to do a carb swap on the long block, now this way since the engine is out, and will be carbed, i can alter cams with ease. I also pulled the dash, again, A buddy and I are going to build a fab dash. Now this is all permitting that I sell the vortec top end and harness (with all the trimmings) and the 98 dash. I haven't thought of what I am going to do about steering, the truck is 90% OHV so I may try to build a Hydro assist unit for it, i'm just going to put the spool in and see how much of a pain it is to steer. I'm also debating Bobing the bed, but Since the truck has so much frame damage as it is, it may not be a good idea. I am looking for any advice and suggestions so toss them out.
