Default power steering problem

ive got an 05 2500 silverado 6.0 w/ fabtech 6 inch lift kit on 20" rims and 35" tires and the truck goes through power steering pumps every 6 months. The rims/tires puts alot of stress on the pulley shaft and rips it out everytime. Im curious if anyone knows of a company that makes a stronger unit, or what people are doing on their lifted trucks to take care of this problem. Its got the hydroboost system on it too so if you lose the steering you lose the brakes at the same time.

GM pump shafts used to break all the time like that, even on bone-stock trucks. I wonder if you're getting reman pumps with the weak shafts over and over. I suggest you buy a new pump from the dealer, it will have the updated and stronger shaft.
