Lift and Tires
I am going to be lifting my truck, 2003 silverado. Do you guys change the gears in it? Also would you go with 18" tires or stay with 16's? What are your opinions? I am pretty sure i am going to go with the fabtech lift and with the instal and everything and tires if i go with 18's its going to be about 4200? Does this seem high? Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like a whole new truck before it was ugly its amazing what a lift and wheel/tires will do.

We've got a 6" going on a black f250 with some 20's and 38" toyo mud tires that thing looks unbielevable.
I was never into lifted trucks until I started working here and saw what a nice lift and tire package can do for looks.

Actually 315/75 Are 35's , Most Manufactures Reccommend No Bigger Than 35's With The 6inch Lift, If You Plan On Going Offroading, Which I Hope U Are. That Way You Can Have A Lil Articulation Without Rubbing. But One Of My Freinds Have 37's On Stock Rims With A 6inch Fabtech Lift .if You Wanted To Save Some Money I Would Put The Lift On Yourself There All Pretty Simple And Easy With A Lil Mechanical Sense And Some Require Welding And Cutting Skills. I Definately Wouldnt Buy Anything From An Accessories Or 4x4 Shop They Rape You On Prices.

yes a 315 75 is a 35" tire.......i put my lift in myself wit ha few buddies....it was prety easy to do....also some lift kits only recomend a 8" wide rim....but if you plan on using the fabtech lift you will be fine with a 10" wide or a 8" wide... also if you are gong ot be going with big tires you might want to think about get some different gears...
if you have just simple toolsyou could do a lift....if im not mistaken the only thing that you have to cut on the fabtech lift is some housing on the front diff....good luck!!

Depends on what gears your truck has? 3.42 or 3.73s? I myself plan on upgrading to 4.56s but I do a lot of towing during the summer. As for the wheel size, I'd go with the 18's if you can swing, they look so much better imo.
