Default I dont get it man...

Why do people lift 2WD trucks? I might understand if this is a Power Stroke or a duramax super crew or something, but i dunno. Anythoughts?

You don't have to have 4wd to go offroad. It helps, but it's not 100% necessary as long as you're careful where you go.

I had a 2wd ranger that pulled plenty of 4wd trucks out of the mud.

lot of people had 2wd trucks then wanted it lifted . others do it cuz its cheaper and looks cleaning cuz nothing hanging underneath and you can go higher with less problems like cv's . and if ur ever gonna mud it like most people around here its a waste having 4wd

why do people drop 4x4's? because they want to and they like the way it looks. alot of people cant afford to buy a whole new truck because they want a lifted truck so they do what they want to what they got.

Drop 4x4's that makes zero sense. After reading the posts, I guess if you had pos-etraction (thats misspelled) you could get it done in the mud, but I think power distribution and overall weight of the vehical is the main factors, Subaru's outback is even attractive offraod if you look at it like that. But dropping the 4x4, thats just dumb, the transfer case has to be in the way of the ride.

why hate against peoples preferences? when did it become a rule that you cant lift a 2wd or drop a 4x4? i would lift a 2wd because it looks sweet. no plans to do any offroading because if i had a 4wd i would literally destroy it in a half year haha...it would just set it apart from the crowd.

well, theres an exception to what i just said....i think it should be illegal to put 20" bling bling wheels on a Jeep Wrangler and drop it.

well said and I'll add this....

Why would anyone ever build a performance truck? Why would someone want to spend $5000 for a supercharger, $2000 for an engine swap, $3000 for a built tranny, and spend $10,000 when it may never even be as fast as a z-28 camaro with a $500 bottle of nitrous. The reason why is because it is what we have to work with and it's what we enjoy doing.

The reason why people do it is because that is what they have and that is what they enjoy doing. 90% of the people that lift 4wd's never use them for real offroading as it is. I could go mudding all the time in my truck when it was lifted and it was 2wd.

I mean, we have a whole website devoted to performancetrucks. I think it's a great idea, but an f-body owner might see all of us as idiots seeing as how 75% of us will never beat a corvette or z-28. We build what we have and if people don't like it, too bad. That's my theory.
