Default 6" Skyjacker installation

I have a 2001 F150, and I plan to buy a 6" skyjacker kit and install it myself. I made the mistake of thinking that 4wheel parts would "take care of me", forget it, screw those guys. They quoted my $4400 bucks to take a body lift off install the skyjacker kit, and 4 new tires 35's. I am gonna buy the kit and install it at my Dad's friend's shop. My question to y'all is, is it pretty straight foward (installation)? Anyone in Houston interested in giving me a hand possibly? Any tips and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Default Huh?

TXsilverado:

I take it you are joking. I want a true 6" of lift, im not really interested in stacking lifts. I went through that with my old '94 chevy. Do you think it is pretty straight foward to install a 6" Fabtech on my truck? I mena is there a lot of cutting and welding of the frame involved? If any.. Let me know what you think.

where did you learn your math?

$4,400-$4399=$1 not 400. it was a joke anyways. i would feel guilty about charging someone that much to install a lift kit.

dang you edited your post before i quoted it lol. hate when that happens!

i would think its a bolt up thing. most of the new kits are. when you get the kit there should be some directions

if the directions in the lift say you have to do drive shaft angle adjustment, nevermind...only a shop with the know how and the tools will ever get the angle right. check the directions bec a 6 inch fabtech is really a 5 inch lift bec they do not want to make their customers adjust angles
