How in depth of a tool are you looking for? The aeroforce scan gauge will display almost everything the pcm controls, and also read & clear codes. If you need more than that, I can give you a better recommendation.

If you're looking for an inexpensive scan tool to retrieve/clear codes and view live data, there are a lot of options available for $200 or less. I have an Equus Innova that is capable of Can OBDII and ABS for Chevy, Ford, and Dodge...it's in their 3100 series, I believe that it is the 3160 (can't remember at the moment and the scanner is down in my truck)

http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3160-Pro...3154773&sr=8-1

It will also let you know if your monitors have run so you can go to state emission inspection and be sure not to fail for Emissions Monitors not being ready. I have an intermittent check engine light (P0446) for a faulty evap vent valve that I haven't replaced yet, and I was able to clear the code and drive around until all of the monitors ran and passed, and go to inspection and pass. Now I have another two year reprieve until I have to replace the vent valve

It will display OBDII generic data, and transmission P codes, but won't show when solenoids are activated, tcc engagement, trans temp, etc.

I also have an old AutoXray scan tool that I basically use just to check for knock retard, as the 3160 doesn't show that info. I haven't checked, but I'm sure that there is a GM Enhanced flash update available, as the scan tool came with a disc and USB cable. That's how I ended up with KR scanning capability with my AutoXray, which also only displayed OBDII generic data. The AutoXray that I have has a small screen and only displays one parameter at a time...it's a bit of a PITA. The Equus Innova 3160 has a nice size screen and displays a bunch of data at once, and is extremely user friendly
