How's the job market in Texas (Houston to Beaumont/PA areas)???

What's there to do around the Beaumont/PA area?

PA at Motiva is slow, trust me i work for them, theyre cutting back salary employee's as of now looking to let go or move 75 of them, 137 operators may be laid off for 18 months. it finally hit our area.. and its not looking good, also valero as postponed there project indefinately

Things are slow right now. Maybe if the price of oil goes up this summer things will pick back up.

thats what I'm hoping for

everyone complains about gas going up... I welcome it. I'd pay $4/gal all day long if it meant me having plenty of work...

I like the 3.50-4.00/gallon gas. Wife gets a bigger bonus at the end of the year. If the price stays low, then nobody's drilling, which makes oilfield services a very slow business. Oil business is slow in Houston, everybody I know of is still doing layoffs.
