Wow... this is some bullshit man! Goodluck, just call the cops on him an explain it they may be able to help out rather than taking it to court!

The cops will say this is a cival matter.

When I paid for my 99-04 silverado front clip swap %100. The shop did most the work and had all the parts but wanted to charge me an extra $800 for being at his shop every other day for a year bitchin about why my truck is not done yet. About 15-20 customers asked me how long my truck was there and walked out.

I called the police to get my truck out, I showed them the paid in full invoice and cops said take him to court, this is a vival matter. I waited till the owner went to lunch and got a tow truck buddy to go get it. Sounds gay but I had to threaten to pepper spray the lot attendant. I got my truck out. A week later someone f'ed up his wifes lexus and he said it was me.

If all he is offering is $200 then a $600 or $1200 judgement with court and lawyer fees being awarded to you will never be paid out. Sounds like he does not have the money. I am not taking sides but $200 is better than a peice of paper says that he owes you $600-$1200.

Small claims court doesnt use a lawyer, its just the two guys and a judge.

If you receive a judgement for him and he does not pay, you can get writ of execution and a constable and go to his bank and they can pull the funds from his account. Nasty way to do it but effective.

Small claims court summons served by the County Sheriff would work too, and it's legal.
