Installing 06 Chevy E-fans on a 01 Chevy
#121
Just odd that I am having issues being that it is a 2001, seems to be more common with 99-00 trucks and SUV's and not so much the 01-02 vehicles.
And its odd that the fans just stay constantly on low and the A/C never triggers them to do anything.

EDIT: I was able to ask the tuner as to what OS I had on my Suburban, looks like I am using 12208322
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am thinking that less changes would need to be made to prevent any check engine lights since its a 2001 and should have an almost identical setup to the 02's? Any help would be greatly appreciated, really wish I owned HPTuners myself so i could avoid the 2 week process of sending out my ECM and waiting for it to come back. I guess if i cant the tuner is kind enough to reimbursed me without issues which is nice
I also noticed you mentioned you had to add a trigger to the A/C circuit under the fuse box, was that just a relay to to trigger the blue wire going to pin 33 in Red/C2? So that pin 33 is triggered by either the ECM when it requests fans on high and/or as well as when the A/C is turned on

Since the tuner has done a lot of trucks, could they use a tune from a 2002 truck with that OS that they know worked and flash it to my ecm and then correct the vin? I feel that may be the easiest way as the tune is already made but again I’m not sure what all is involved or if that’s pretty much doing the same thing lol

According to PCM of NC they say it requires a patch to make it work. The patch likely applies something that can not be seen in the background to make it work on other OS's
It wont allow me to attach the PDF of the instructions

Thank you!
The tuner said he can update the OS but said he does have some slight hesitancy as sometimes the O2 sensors do not work correctly depending on the application and how the 02 sensors are configured.
thanks again, I really appreciate your help! What a headache

I don't know What tuning software he is using.
He can use whatever OS he is comfortable with. If he has a different 02 OS that he knows works then go for it.
I suspect some OS have something missing for it to function properly since PCM of NC applies a Patch file to it.
I didn't have time to send the PCM out in my case.

my main goal is to not have the fan come on as soon as the truck starts and to go based off of temperature, the A/C part I can figure out at a later point lol
