I think your looking for a double din head unit as the 1.5s were back in the late 90s if im not mistaken. I have an 03 Sierra and its a double din. If your looking for an in dash DVD touch screen unit look for an alpine/pioneer/kenwood. I am personally more familiar with the Alpines and know they make a module to retain factory components (ie steering wheel controls, onstar, door chime etc) and im sure the other named manufactures have similar modules for the same reason. Just check out the headunit manufactures website for add-on modules for the headunits your looking for as modules will not work with all headunits.

curious to see what you find because I just bought an 05 ccsb with steering wheel controls and I'd like to put an aftermarket unit in. I have had alpine head units for about 7 years now and I would like to stay with them. Let me know what you find.

Hey I don't know if you have already bought your screen, but I have a Pioneer AVH-P4100URL and am very happy with it. I found all of the accessories (iPod cord, wiring harness, radio adapter, installation kit, and steering wheel controls) at the bottom of the web page under "customers who bought this item also bought". I don't know if you have the Bose speaker package, but the wiring harness for that is about $100. The best thing about this cd player is that the iPod navigation on the screen is exactly like a real iPod. It displays the album art, artist name, song name and has iPod wheel on the other part of the screen. Let me know if you want any pictures of it, and amazon was the cheapest place on the internet if you buy it.

IMO the best Alpine double din is the IVA-W205
however, our trucks are ALL (with exception to the NNBS) 1.5 DIN and will not fit a 2DIN without heavy modification. Scooby, your truck may have been modified by a previous owner (or by you haha) but it came stock as 1.5. most aftermarket radios will require the PAC SWI-JACK harness for the steering wheel controls.
hope that helps

I threw a Pioneer 3200BT double din in mine, I had to make my own brackets but it came out clean as hell.
Everyone that jumps into my truck goes dam that fits in the dash looks stock.
