Eclipse CD8454. Best sound quality out of a lot of decks we sold. Pricey to be sure but it even worked very well in my grey truck which used stock mids/highs. Great features for a simple system as well. The xover is what helps a ton on a stockish system.

Pioneer would be mny next choice but they diodn't sound nearly as good as the Eclipse.

I have a pioneer unit that I just picked up last winter. It was a brand new model with all the goodies on it. I forget the model # but I have a pic.

I think that's a DEH-860MP. I had one in my AV untill about a month ago and your right. It is a nice HU.

I just upgraded to a AVIC-N2 NAV/DVD HU and all of the goodies.

The CD8454 is last years unit. The newer versions are nicer and a lil cheaper.

The big thing with the Eclipse is the sound quality which the regualr units like Pioneer or Alpine cannot touch. I also like that they have a 3yr warranty if installed by a dealer.
