Depending on what ohm load you are running will determine how hot the amp gets as well. If your running 4ohm or higher I wouldnt worry. If your running 2ohm or lower then it probably wouldnt hurt to have a fan. The newer technology amps dont run nearly as hot as the old class d and class a/b amps though so you may be able to get away with it. When it comes to electronics though, the cooler the better.

I am tottaly with you! That is why I was going to install the fan from day one. For fear and that the cooler electronics run the longer they last. Like I said I havn't had an issue and commonly the longest I am in my truck is maybe 30 min.

I honestly don't remember how it is hooked up but it beats damn good for a single 10. I bought it from a friend and sure he hooked it up for lowest ohm possible. i beleive it is a dual 4 so it is running 2 ohms.
Regardless I am happy and not an issue after nearly a year.

Well thats all that counts! I should have my 10" in this weekend hopefully then my system should be complete for good.....I think. I am going to run a small fan on my amps on the back wall because they are older Sony class a/b which tend to run a little hotter.

I like the install though. Cant beat stealth installs for looks and security.
