Default Rear Power Locks What the.....

My rear doors do not lock using the remote or the power switches in the truck, but they do unlock if I have manually locked them. The Front doors operate fine. What in the world could be causing this?

there might be a relay somewhere that runs the back ones.

trace down wires and check for damage and/or relays.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm or remote start? If so, there may be a problem there. Also, I've had problems with my door lock actuators/latch assemblies in my truck (99 rcsb)...driver's side shorted leaving the dome light on as if the door were open (bad internal courtesy switch), and the passenger's side doesn't always lock on the first try, sometimes I have to hit the lock button a few times and it works (open circuit in the actuator assy).

It's fixed, 2K4 you were right, it was just a matter of finding the right relay and replacing it. $28 buck later it's all good.

BTW- Nick, if I hadn't found the problem, I might have taken you up on your offer. But since it's fixed, I guess it's off the market.

there is a separate relay for locking and another one for unlocking the rear doors. Its in the fuse block on the LH side of the dash. Its probably the relay...I couldnt tell you how many I have put in.....
