Just upgrade your door speakers. If you notice that is not 120watts rms its peak you arent going to get that much sound out of it. I dont know what your current sound system mods are but if you have the factory head unit you will not even be able to take advantage of running a filter so the mids and highs are going to still sound garbled at high volume plus I would think it would be pita to intall and tweak the sttings being under the seat. If it were me I would put some high quality door speakers with about a 200watt amp and that will give you louder clearer sound.

The powered sub has a remote so you can adust the crossover volume and phase. Amp'd 6 3/4"'s will give you good midbass but not good bass. I put bass blockers on the back 4x6 to keep them from distortaing.

thanks, but i really dont want to take up any room behind the seats, id like to keep it clear. no reason in particular, just might need that space one day.
i do agree that a 10" setup is the way to go. i had a 10" thunderforms with a sounstream amp on it and it was more than enough bass.

i have a completely stock 2005 system. its got the in dash cd. it sounds fairly decent down low with the bass in, but once you turn the volume up, the bass kills the vocals. you can turn the bass all the way out, and then the vocals sound great, too bad thats all you hear, hehe. not looking for much, i think the clarion or the kenwood setup will suffice for me, if not, crutchfield does have the 30 day trial period, so ill only be out shipping and my time of running a few wires.

thanks for all the help. im still not sure if i even wanna add a sub. im tempted to do the free mods and bolt ons to the truck, but its so new, i wanna savor the moment.

Honestly if I were in your position I would just put a good set of coax speakers in there and an aftermarket headunit and be done with it.
