Well i'm board with my setup and am wanting to do something diffrent then my current downfiring 10's. my question is it possible to put a ported box in a 2000 ext. cab silverado? the tens i'm going to use are fosgate P2 10's. and if it is not posible can people post up pics of other ideas?

 

i have the same subs in a sealed box. and they work great....so dont go with ported box..

 

I put a downfiring ported box in my friends extended cab silverado with 2-8" kicker L7 subs. Sounds really good. He wasn't too sure about going with 8's, but he likes them now. Subs come with the specs you need to build it, just make sure you have the right cubes inside and port size and you should be alright. Also, I saw on the net, you can just buy a pre-fabbed box ready to go.

I personally used the pictures to get a basic idea, then went with it on my own. Depends on how good you are with that stuff. Hope this helps, good luck.

 

i have had lots of porte boxs and loved them but they have on dissadvantage there so dam big
so go sealed if u dont have much room

 

It is possible with the right subs and power.
Heres what I did. It is the best sounding box I have made for 10s.

Love the amp placement you did with that design.

 

I really like that box. I was thinking of taking out my 12s and going to 10s. I might BORROW your design.

I'd just go with a setup like Blue 01 shows in the pic. Bass is easy to increase in the cab of a truck.

In highschool a friend of mine had Regular cab dodge pickup with 4 JL 12"s and i don't remember what wattage he was running. but no one ever knew he had them until late into senior year when he let someone drive his truck during lunch. they drove to the store and started messing with the radio. on the way back we could hear them FOREVER before they finally showed up. It sounded like someone was in the parking lot bumping the entire time. but instead it was them several blocks away jamin out.

 

the different directions of firing the sub will have different acoustical responses and will "load" better in different places in the cab.

probox used to have a good dual 10 ported box for chevy.

you can build your own and even easily raise the seat to squeeze a little more air space. subs up or forward, with ports forward or out the sides.
