Default Need sub-box for my new truck. I just told you everything I know about car audio.

Ok, I know NOTHING about car audio.
I had 2 RF 12s in my 04' RCSB with a 200w amp and an Alpine in dash.

I kept the amp and speakers with the bummy *** boxes that I had a local sound shop fab up for me.

I now have a 06 ECSB and will be installing all of my old stuff in it within the next few weeks.
I know for sure that im going to scrap the 2 individual boxes. I understand that a underseat, downfiring unit is the way to go, correct?
What im looking for is a quality box. I hear a lot of people telling me to shy away from the pre-fab boxes, and anything that is made out of particle board(I thought thats the only way they came).

As you can tell, I wont be entering any sound competitions, so I dont need the best box on the market, but I do want quality, can someone point me in the right direction.
thanks

BTW, im PRETTY sure these are the 12s I have

12s

Ya down fire box is the way to go in extended cabs. I had mine covered in vynal to match the leather interior. As far as partical board I dunno. I havent lifted my seat and really inspected it but I was always told that partical board is the way to go but

it depends on your idea of partical board. you don't want the big chip partical board crap you want the mdf. multi density fiberboard i believe is what it stands for. unless things have changed this is what i always used.

i would say yes a down fireing box mine sounded good. built it myself lol j/k snake eater built it. i would take pics but its alittle on the bar-b-qed side. great thing about building your own is you can make it how you want. when you buy a prefab you might like some parts of it and not others. but some prefab boxes are great. it mostly personnel prefrence really.

my buddy had the same style set up. he went to the pre-fab down fire and it sounded 10 times better.
