Well this right here alone tells you not to listen to anything said by this dumb ***. Let me guess he suggested something super expensive like JL audio or JBL. DD makes awesome competition level subs at reasonable prices.

I would suggest building your own custom box preferably ported and getting a single 10" or 12" from soundqubed or DD. (They are essencially the same thing) I think dual 8" DDs will sound clean and might reach the low notes you want. However, you have to buy two subs which means more $$$ and box air space will be limited. I have heard a single soundqubed 10" hit as loud, hard and as clean as anything in a ideal ported under seat box. Building your own box will mean tuning the port to the exact level you want. Plus save yourself some $$$$ once again.

Don't let these audio geeks(reminds me of tundra dudes arguing over cai's and hand held tuners) complicate things more than they need to be. Listen to the dudes who do it for a living and let the web warriors yell at their screens.

I stick by Memphis. I haven't suggested DD because I doubt hes looking for anything competition, and it would be hard to get anything like that at optimum performance under that seat unless he went with eights, which is a waste when he can do one 10 or tw0 10s easy and even one 12 if he wanted.

and if clean is what your looking for, focal or hertz is the way to go everytime.. if you don't mind spending some serious $$

Next question.
If I run a speaker amp combo capable of 600-1000watts rms, will my power supply need to be beefed. Will I need a larger alternator, and would the "big 3" upgrade help at all?

The big 3 will help for sure. It will reduce resistance dramatically which will improve charging and power delivery. A bigger alternator would be a great idea although not 100% necessary. If you have a 105amp model then a 145 would be a very good idea. If you have a 145 stock then you should be just fine. A good stock battery should be fine up to about 2500 watts of total stereo power. Beyond that a secondary battery would be ideal.

OK, thanks. Is there a part# or something I can look at on the alternator to distinguish what size it is?
