I haven't had subs in a long time, and have no idea what I'm looking at anymore!!! Any input will be appreciated. I'm not looking to win a competition, just want a little more punch, and clean sounding system. I do not plan to run vocals through the sub, just bass. What amp/sub combination has worked for y'all? I will also be upgrading my factory truck speakers over the summer, along with a head unit. Damn, there are so many options out there.
I spoke with the customer service guy at digital designs today. There main office is on my patrol area, so I figured I would go talk to them. He suggested running to 8's under my back seat. He told me due to air space the 8's will sound better than any 10" combination. Do y'all agree or disagree? Either way, why?

Digital designs is bad ***. Their 8s will sound great under your back seat. I personally prefer the sound quality(deeper harder hits vs a crisper louder sound from 2 8s) of a single 10 in a good ported box. Sound Quebed is a sister company to digital designs. Basically the same stuff at a cheaper rate direct to the consumer with the expectation that you will DIY your own box.

I went to Audio Extreme in OKC on NW 63rd St for my sound system install. I'll probably be going back to them when I upgrade to my Rockford system. They can either build you a custom box there or you can easily find a pre-made custom box to fit under your seat. I myself just ordered my new sub box two days ago from sonicelectronix.

The world of audio is a whole other beast, depending on what you're looking for.

The customer service guy at digital designs suggested I go talk to them (audio extreme). I did, and really like the help they gave me. I'm not crazy about some of their prices, and feel they are a bit inflated, but hey will be getting my service. One of the employees even let me listen to the setup in his truck. I'm planning to go with x2 8's to utilize the air space. The setup the guy had was x1 8, and it hit pretty good (its an air space thing). Like I originally said, I want something that can be loud, but clean. Given my job description, I shouldn't be driving around slamming subs on my days off.

Yeah I agree that Audio Extreme's prices are a tad high but they are VERY helpful and they do some awesome work from what I can tell from the pictures on their fb page. I went to them for my first install early last year and asked for just the basic functional setup (New front door speakers, sub, amp) but now I doing a big audio build and I'll be going back to them if I need any help or need quick parts
