Ipod v. XM
#1
I'm getting tired of lugging two 100 CD folders around and the constant talk radio that they play around here so I'm considering adding an Ipod or XM to my stock non bose head unit. I need the input of you guys who have one or the other or both. From a sound quality perspective, what is the best way to integrate one of these into the stock stereo system.
So far as I see it:
Ipod
pros - tiny, can be used in multiple vehicles, in home, or portable.
cons - high theft potential, download costs, I don't have a lot of free time to download music
XM
pros - just like listening to the radio, but without talk and commercials, can program the receiver to switch stations automatically when one of your favorite songs comes on
cons - ugly antenna, high subscription costs, multiple vehicles need multiple subcriptions, no portability
So which did or would you guys choose?

I would say iPod. but the new XM antenna's are very small (go threw the third brake light and put it on the roof and you will hardly know its there, $12.95 isent hi compared to any other sat. radio (siruis is the same price) and thats $.50 a day and you get discounts is you prepay the recevers are getting smaller with multible car kits you dont need more then one account XM does have portable units with hard drives.
Lime wire allows you to DL music for free and with hi speed dling music takes about a min/per song
