Default Help me choose an amp and subs for my truck

I mainly post on the tech site but figured you guys could help me out over here.. I need help on choosing a amp and subs for my 01 ECSB silverado. I know i am going with the Kenwood MP4028 deck, and plan to run my stock speakers with this deck.. Now onto the subs and amp.. Is this a good setup or what would you suggest?

Kenwood KAC-9152D amp
2 Kenwood 10 inch 1800 watt typhoon subs.
A front firing dual 10 inch under the seal ported box that a friend made..

I'm no stereo guy by any means and i dont wanna mismatch this and sound like crap. I just want good bass and good overall sound.

Also, is the stuff of ebay worth buying or is it junk? Prices are good but i am a little skeptical..

Thanks for all of your help.

Phil

I'm not good on amps but i can help you with "good overall sound"... dont have the subs firing towards you.

The ebay stuff, if you find a specific amp you want and the seller has really really good feedback then there should be no problem buying it.

OK, so do a downfire box or something like that?

Also the e-bay thing i am reffering to is the big discount shops that sell them..They all seem to have good feedback so they must be ok?

yeah downfiring would be good.

And yeah those ebay shops are pretty good. My friend bought an amp and got it real quick but when he hooked it up he fried it. But he sent it back and they fixed it, sending it back and fixing it is what took the longest. But if you just check out feedback you'll be able to tell if its an ok place.

i got my refurbished RF POWER SER. 451S off of ebay for $130. i've been having it for two years and it's still works like the day i got it. just search around for good deals and try not to get screwed by local audio shops.

You can have the sub firing forward if the port is facing up behind the seat, back wards or down.

I am not that big of a fan for Kenwood amps. There subs are better than there amps, but if that is the brand you like go for it. They are ok for the price. Amps I would recommend are Rockford power series, JL , or MTX.
Same for subs with JL dual vocie coils being the #1 pick and the cleaned.

i know of another guy in AZ selling, i think he as 2, DLS ultimate A3's for i think $400 each. here's a link to the amp and it will cleanly put out it's rated power....

some shops are scoundrals. there are also some awesome shops that are in it because they are enthusiasts and will be straight shooters. just pick the right shop.

i'd definately ditch the kenwood subs. they added an extra 0 when they rated those.
