Default Help with dual alt wiring

Hey guys, I posted this over on Tech and nobody has been able to give me a good answer other than recommending I change my setup. Reply over there if you want to reply, but take a look and see if you have any ideas....this is regarding my twin alt setup and only one running at any given time.

I have put my opinion over on LS1 Tech. I do understand that you don't want to install another battery. I do need some more information about the wire coming from the side connector, 1 of the wires feed the voltmeter, but what is the other for?

If that wire is a feed wire from the computer that might be your problem but not for sure. What are the volt reading on both alternators if one of the connectors is unplugged, I am thinking your problem might have something to do with the second wire on the side connector, but not for sure. I know on the 99 (at least my truck) they charge all the time even if the side connector is unplugged.
