Default Ext Cab Sub Box

I am shopping for a box to house my two 10" mtx black golds underneath my back seat. They want .75 ft^3 each so i found this box on ebay:

anyone know anything about it? Are there better deals out there?

I have heard that one of the best boxes you can get is a subthump box. I haven't had any personal experience with them, but I have heard quite a few people say they are good.

I'm using a MTX 6000 series 10" sub (this is about 7-8 years old now) mounted in a Q Logic (Crutchfield) "behind the seat truck box". It lays flat under my passenger rear seat and faces up, you could use a pair of these if they meet your specs. My amp sits on the ledge against the back wall next to the jack location.

That thing on ebay is a piece of . Don't waste your money buying that thing off ebay. Get a custom box made...they are cheaper in the long run if you are planning to run a more aggressive system you will need it. Don't get something that looks cheap

smokedsierra, why do you say its a POS? I am not arguing, but I am wondering what to look for.
Nick, thanks for showing me that option but its only .65 ft^3. Don't feel bad for your sub being old...mine are 13 yrs old now and my amp is about 5 yrs haha.

Anyone know what is special about the subthump box? I cant get one cuz the specs don't match but maybe i can replicate it myself.

As far as building one myself, i think i might have to go 1/2" MDF to make sure i get the space i need (I'll have to build two separate boxes since my carpentry skills arent good enough to fit a single box over the hump)...is the 1/2" ok?

I found this one also....i emailed them to find the air space. is this quality?

I can buy a box like that at a flea market for 40 bucks. Those boxes are made out of crappy material and they are held together with wood glue and maybe liquid nail. All I can tell you is that you get what you pay for, get a custom box made from an audio shop in your area. If there is no audio shop, you can build your own that will be just as good if not better. There are tons of things on google that can help you out.

man your too stuck on air space for those subs....get as close as you can (within .2 ft^3 if possible) and add some polyfill if its not quite big enough....also a little secret, if the box is a little small then get a bigger amp and put more power to the sub this will make up for the smaller air space....just sayin dont expect to find a prefab box exactly to your specs.....get close and you should be fine....the only way to get exact is to build it yourself, but i wouldnt see why you couldnt get enough air space using 3/4 MDF wich is what i recommend....
