Default Dual Batteries

Any body running two batteries? If so where do you have the second one. I was thinking of putting mine on passenger side up where fender and firewall meet. Only problem is I would have to remove the brace that connects the two. What do you guys think?

Might want to check into where they put the auxillary battery on the heavy duty pickups. You can get them from the factory like that. I dont think you can though on the 1/2 tons.

You really don't need to run an isolator. I never have in any of my other vehicles. A great spot would be where the stock air intake box is, but I have a K&N CAI there. So I am thinking the only other spot would be up by the hood hinge on the passenger side.

On the hd's the second battery is mounted right where ur talking about. Best way to do it IMO is to run one of those pigtails off the alternator that splits the lead to go to two batteries so they arent connected. That way if a cell goes bad in one battery it wont drain both. Plus you can hook up a big *** sound system and not having dimming lights and you could hook up electric fans to the aux battery too so you dont have the headlight dimming problem like alot fo people. I will be doing this in the next month or so hopefully and thats how I plan on doing it.

Are you going to leave out that curved brace that goes from the firewall to the fender. My Opitma won't fit with that in there.

Yes it will be fine without. I was going to try and find a low profile battery to put there. I have ran my truck for 50,000miles without the driverside brace cause I had it off when I put my sound system in and didnt put it back onbefore the alarm was installed and they put a sensor iright there and I have been to lazy and busy to by and get them to relocate it.

Well I think that is where it is going then. I will get a battery mounting kit and go from there. Thanks
