Default CD R quality

Ok guys,
I'm new to the whole cd burning thing so bare with me,

I made a bunch of mix cds over the weekend using 80 Min Fuji CDR's.

The software I used was Windows media player.

Now on the original cds I'm at around Volume 20 on my alpine deck to have it rockin,
Now with the new CDR's I'm turing it up to about 24-26 to achieve the same volume.

Does WMplayer lower the quality of the CD's

just throwing it out there,
Its not a big deal

Ditch WMA for burning cds use Nero its so much better you can control alot more aspects of the burning program.

Are you putting WMA files on the CD to play on your headunit? Or are you converting the WMA's for playback in ANY CD player?

yea windows media player will automatically convert them to the .cda format players can read. I think windows media player might also have a volume equlization built into it. That could be your problem. Use Nero!

Of course this same thing happens with my Beastie Boys CD. Its really quiet compared to my other CDs. And it was one of the few CDs that I actually bought. Not burned.

Some CDR's wont play in our factory players because of the dye they use and the fact that the laser they use to read the CD is not really powerful enough. But since its digital, if it plays then the CD quality should not affect the volume.

windows media player sucks it converts the songs to a low grade wma then back to a wave file to burn. Use another program you can find several for free on zdnet.com or cnet
Ive never liked windows media the wma format is inferior to mp3, ogg vorbis or just about any audio compression out there.

I've always used itunes; some people don't like it but there is a lot of user control with it.
