06 Sierra Factory 6 disk aux input???
#1
I have an 06 Sierra with the factory 6 disk changer, it has another plug on the back of it where like 6 or 7 pins go that has nothing going to it.. and also has a button on the front for cd/aux..
Can i add an aux jack.
I assume that the extra plug is for console connections is this correct?
Did these trucks ever come with an aux port maybe in the console..
Thanks in advance..

Ok well I cant be of any help, There is a mod that taps into the satelite radio and allows you to wire a 3.5mm jack to it but I do not know if it can be done to a non radio in that sense.
PAC I believe has one but the problem is the cost of the dam thing.

Can you give me some detail or provide a link of how to do this? I have an 03 Yukon that I'm looking to add the aux jack to.

Try this, ---LINK---
You may need to double check you vehicle year, model and options.
But I know for a fact that you have the option to support a SAT radio from GM with the 06 Sierra with 6 disc player, So I believe this would be the best option for the AUX.
your SAT radio would have pluged into the 12 pin (smaller plug port) that is located on the back of your current OEM radio, this is also the plug that supports the 6 disc CDX slave unit as well.

I"m in the same boat, however, I got a free non-bose 6 disc in dash changer I'm swapping in and since I'm there i want to add this aux jack to listen to my mp3/iPhone. By no means do i need it to be fancy but the truck does not have factory xm or on star. I"m assuming the extra 9 pin plug on the back is for either on star or the xm antenna. I do not have either so there is no wiring harness to tap into. MY question is, since i have to get the radio unlocked at the dealer, cant I have them turn on the xm function and tap into the radio itself somewhere? Two guys over at GMFS did this but one was to an older radio, pre 2003 and the other guy did it to his 03 Denali but used the wiring harness for the xm/on star (whatever it runs) to make his connections to the aux jack.
I'd really prefer to not have to buy anything from PAC or similar because when it comes down to it I'll just buy a DVD receiver and be done with it but at this point i dont wanna fork out the coin lol

If you have the 9 pin connector then I believe it is pre 03 CDX & audio play back connetor, similar to the 4th gen F-Bodys
Here is the part number for the 12 & 9 way connector, but dont think it is a pig tail assy...., GM 12 pin # 12064799 & GM 9 pin # 12064980

After thoughtful consideration, I think I'm just going to buy this guy;
Kenwood DDX319 DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com
Really cant go wrong with the price, plus the GPS features will be helpful on long hauls. I just hope that it will work fine with my Iphone 4s I'm getting from work within the next month or so. I dont need/want bluetooth and a hardwired connection from the receiver to my phone will be just fine for me.
