Default What to do?

OK I have 3 options with my truck.

1. Get my STS tuned and add meth. Which should add 50-75 RWHP. Problem is the number of STS engines that have blown pistons.

2. Take off the STS and sell it on EBay at a loss. Then buy the new Roe Twin Screw S/C and have roe put it on and tune it.

3. Take off the STS and replace with headers and meth. Then just run N/A.

1 is the cheapest route other then the risk of blowing an engine.
2 cost more and I think is a better design.
3 engine lives longer but less HP.

What do you think?

I'd go with a ROE top mount if I could talk the spousal unit into not kicking me out of the house for it

There is something about a built N/A setup too. I think I may be able to swing a cam swap and a little head work some day.

The most important thing is to get a good tune. I think if I were you I would get on the phone with ROE (if you haven't already) and get his opinion of running the STS with his tune.

Good luck either way.

I agree with VT2933 since you already have the STS get Roe or DC a call for their tune. Good luck with your decision.

My truck is going to Roe in June. So they would be doing the tune and meth on whatever I have or get. If I go N/A, then I would not do anything at this poing other then add meth.

I would let Roe tune it and if it still gives you problems (and after you wipe the drool off your chin ) you should probably install his top mounted S/C

Of course thats easy for me to say since its not my dime

I'm not having problems other then low power, which a good tune and meth should fix. The problem I'm worried about is the piston. I just don't know exactly how many pistons were lost with people only running 5 psi.

A good tune with 5 psi should not be a problem.

Well there is the old traction problem

Sean may be able to make some improvements on the oiling/flow etc...to help reduce the #3 issue. I can understand your concern, I would be worried too.

I have been in contact with Roe. Not much help for improving the system. They are S/C guys, not Turbo guys. They have no R&D to help them make the system better, plus it's not their system.

I'm thinking about caltracts.

Well, you could always sell it and get a Lightning, or an SS.
