2012 Sierra RCSB 5.3 build thread @ New Era Performance

Well... yeah lol. But they weren't impressive. I ran 3 11.9's last night, and 1 12.5... I knew 1st gear spun all 4 tires pretty bad on the street, but thought it would be better at the track, but these all terrain tires were much worse than I thought they would be at this power level. My 3 11.9 passes spun all of 1st gear, then most of 2nd gear, then when it caught, it downshifted back to first then spun again etc, I ended up having to let off and back on in all those passes. On the 12.5 pass, I just stayed on it anyway, and sure enough... Bye Bye waterpump pulley again at the 1/8 mile mark, broke the solid weld and ripped it right off. Maybe I should have pinned it, or just went to the electric pump. I guess we will figure this out next and make a permanent solution for this problem.

800+ flywheel hp. I have the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S (All Terrain) tires. The tread is more for an offroad type driving. I am not 100% sure what we are going to do right now, because I am not sure what is in the budget currently. But first we are going to address the waterpump problem. I will update this thread as we move forward.

Here is Mike's Camaro VS his truck. This was the one where it was bucking pretty good. Still an impressive run. The truck sounds like a jet engine going down the track.

Well, here is an update. We found this aftermarket water pump by PRW for the trucks, it is higher flowing and frees up some load in doing so. But more importantly, the pressed on hub is 2 inches long, and it has a billet pulley that bolts onto the hub with 4 bolts. It is made by PRW and costs $380, this should (hopefully) do ths job now, and no more slinging water pump pulleys...
