2012 Sierra RCSB 5.3 build thread @ New Era Performance

I posted this stuff to our facebook page, but I don't think everyone follows our facebook page so I will post it here too.
Truck all loaded up with stuff to set up our vendor area at the track.

Funny story from this weekend at the LSX Shootout about the New Era GMC Sierra project...
Saturday morning started off with the first qualifying round of LSX Rumble class, Mike ran 11.9 @ 116mph in Sierra, then 2 hours later lined up for the True Street competition, which requires a mapped out 40 mile drive in the vehicle you are competing with, then 3 hot lapped passes and from the minute you leave to go on the drive until you are done, you can not lift up your hood or hook a laptop up to your vehicle. About 40% of the competing vehicles don't complete the True Street competition because they either break or are about to break and decide to remove themself out of the competition. True Street is pretty brutal on a modified vehicle, especially something with a supercharger/turbocharger or other substantial modifications.
Mike made his first pass in the Sierra, and at the end of the track the A/C belt shredded, which ended up kicking the main belt off the engine leaving the truck dead at the end of the track, which made the Sierra unable to continue because the hood needs to come up so we can replace the belt. Mike calls shop tech "Chuck" over to bring tools to replace the belt. Chuck quickly drove down the return road to the end of the track, lodged himself underneath the truck (without a jack) and successfully installed a new belt without popping the hood within 2 minutes while the safety crew watched to be sure the truck did not get disqualified! When Mike appeared back up in the staging lanes to compete, they told him they new his belt came off and he was unable to compete because he had to have popped his hood to change it. Mike told them to call the saftey crew, we changed the belt without popping the hood, they watched us do it (while they were laughing because they thought it wasn't possible lol). Sure enough after radio confirmation, he said, yeah (with a chuckle), I guess you are still in, get in line! Mike didn't win, but he did follow through and complete the True Street competition running low 12 second times in the Sierra.

And, last but not least, we want to say thank you to OnStar for calling Mike in his GMC Sierra to make sure he was ok in the second round of eliminations going down the track at about the 1/8 mile, apparently when it shifted into second gear it thought someone crashed into the back of the truck, lol. This is a TRUE story.

Something else I will mention, I got 17 mpg on the way there and back wit a truck full of stuff and a passenger etc. going at an average speed of about 70mph, and my truck does not have the AFM anymore, so I was pretty happy about that too!
We should be getting our new dyno set up here in about 2 weeks, so I will finally have some dyno numbers as well.
