I would say do your other mods and save your time and money on the cam swap... since you plan on goin bigger later down the road. but thats just my opinion..

people always saying the LS6 cam swap isnt worth it, but on a bone stock 5.3 its worth a solid 30 horse, and thats more then all the bolt ons will get you, and is a cheap and easy mod to do.
If you get 243 heads, make sure you have them milled down, or you will loose compression due to the bigger 64cc chambers,(5.3 heads have 61cc chambers). You can find a TBSS or SSR 90mm intake that will fit the stock and 243 LS6/LS2 heads and flows better than the stock truck intake.
I have the 243 heads, LS6 cam and TBSS intake assembly that will be going on my truck, along with some pacesetter LT's/ORY and i already have 05+ OEM efans and the stock muffler replaced with a dynomax ultraflow.
Good luck on the swap, and post up your results.
If you call up patriot performance, they are selling brand new assembled 243 heads for 450 for the pair, something to think about.
