the info here is great! i already have the 02 z06 cam sittin here next to me with yellow springs...i wanted to do some p&p'd 243's and an ls2 intake manifold and throttle body also but i dont think that would be able to come under my budget....if i found them for a good price though i still would...like i said earlier right now im looking for lt/ory, posi, and hidden hitch. after that the extra money will go to heads and intake manifold

well it is a trade off, the truck intake gives good low end torque and
the LS6 gives a better top end.
i guess on this it depends where you want that power placed.

I liked that little cam and was able to hit a 13.6 w/ 3000 stall and 3:73 gears. You definately feel a difference from a stock cam and I was on a budget at the time also. Go for it!

Honestly man, I would ditch the ls6 intake. I'm not saying people haven't gained power with them, but show me where it's made a significant improvement to justify the $500+ cost of doing the swap. Just doesn't seem worth it from all the info I've read.

but haha.... i ran a 14.8@91 with just a (5.3) K&N Intake, Gutted Cats, Magnaflow muffler, 0%TM on stock trans. raised rev limiter, raised shift points to 6100 1-2 and 2-3. NO timing or fuel changes (not much of a "tune").. trapped something like 6200-6300 in 2nd gear... but i have 3.42s with 29" tires.
