Default That Walbro 255 fuel pump install..........

.......is a pain in the ***. Modifying that bucket with a crappy air dremel is not the best means of getting it done, but it did the job. Also caught hell getting that damn sock filter on the bottom of the pump. What else.........Oh, yeah, you guys weren't kidding about the fuel line being a bitch to get off the top of the old pump.
Thank God we had the fork lift here with the four corner chain setup to take off the bed of the truck. Made install 100% better than dropping the tank.
Also, couldn't believe the pump worked perfectly the first time we put it back in and fired it up. The Walbro is loud as hell when it first primes up.

First impressions of the pump in the truck.....

Truck feels so much better on a 1/4 pull. Before it was falling off HARD after the 2/3 shift. You could physically feel and hear the motor fall off on the big end. Now it seems to continue making power well past the 100mph mark. There's no telling how long I've been needing a pump upgrade. The pump isn't loud while running(yet), and it seems to continue pulling fuel even at fairly low levels(although i don't dog on it at anything low).

I think this is definately a worthwhile for all of you clowns to do. Now I won't be scared of that "big" shot I've been planning for.

the pump is ~120 shipped from Summit. I don't know what you are talking about when you say modifying the bucket, we were able to slap the sock filter on and stuff it in the bucket on Matt's truck. as for that piece of hard fuel line off the pump, that went in the trash in favor of a piece of rubber fuel injection hose, seems to work absolutely fine and it's a hell of a lot easier to get back on. We lifted the bed off with 2 people and put it back on with 4, no hard at all.
