Well my old man went down to the deer lease without me a few weekends back and he ended up seeing this blue indigo snake munching on a bigass rattlesnake. Just thought i would share.

interesting. gotta admit...being a yankee, I've never heard of blue indigo. Some quick googlin and I found that the eastern diamond back is the blue indigo's preferred food choice. WTF? How the hell does a nonpoisonous snake take down a poisonous snake. Especially the finky and il-tempered eastern rattler. Sneaky bastard.

Ya just don't see that everyday! I've spent years in the stix of FL and have never caught one feeding, let alone on a rattler. And FL has penty of both. We just call that an Indigo, but it's got three or four common names. People think they're Black Racers too, but those are only similar in color, Indigo being much larger(thicker) usually and nowhere near as quick as the racer.
Good photo!
