get a manual gauge for testing before you crank it again!

How many seconds has it ran without oil pressure? Swap out your oil filter, and also check with a mechanical gauge. If all else fails pull the pan and make sure the pick up tube is still attached to the pump, if it is pull the front cover and replace the oil pump. A small spec of dirt can wedge the pressure piston in the oil pump and you will lose oil pressure. Ask me how I know

maybe 5 each time. should i just go ahead and get a high volume/ported oil pump? got a parts list? i'm going to have to order everything first, make sure i get it all and then do it. it also takes about a week to get parts over here.

Depends on how far you want to go to diagnose the problem. If you revved it all the way and didnt get any oil pressure then it could be, debris in the piston, pickup tube popped off, o-ring pinched or a bad/clogged oil filter. I would just get a new pump and shim the spring a little and run with it. I ported mine and added a small shim and Im at barely under 80 while cruising around with 40 weight oil. If you are going to do a cam swap now is the time since you will already be there.

i never revved it. it started dinging at me and said "low oil pressure" so i turned it off. the oil filter i ordered from the States should be here this week. was going to change the oil this weekend. 918s should be here this week too. was still deciding on a cam but i goes i'll just go ahead and bite the bullet and order one tomorrow. might as well get me parts list going, lol

any ideas on oil pump? just get a ported/high volume one? i guess i'll start searching threads for all the other chit needed for the breakdown.

alright...just went out and tried it again. it's about 45 outside, said "low oil pressure" for about 2 secs and then it was fine. cold start idle @ about 750 RPMs and oil pressure was reading 40-43 on the interceptor. oil level is fine. do you think a sensor could be going bad? wouldn't the Interceptor DTC function pick up on that?

If you lose oil pressure again start it up and rev it to around 2K, just bump the throttle, if it doesnt rise then you may have a bad sensor or screwed up pump.
