I have an interview on Monday for a new position at my company. The position will by on the team that is upgrading our companies Accounting system (SAP). The job sounds great and the people are pretty cool. The only thing that concerns me is the job requires about 25% travel.... My previous position required some traveling, but it was only every once in awhile... As far as expenses go, they are all covered plus I get per deim (roughly $70-$100 a day depending on location) when I travel... I was just wondering how some of you guys like traveling with work...

I did it for a long time, working between houston to Brownsville and coastal areas of LA, Miss, and Alabama. I really enjoyed it when I was single, once I got married, it was no longer fun or desirable. With you getting engaged soon, and probably soon to marry, its something I would really think over.

No clue, more than likely I will be auditing some of our software suppliers, basically across the US and some overseas....
NO kids (that I know of), I already have a pretty nice house....
Yep I discussed it with my GF before I even applied, she was cool with it... The only thing it will really affect now is our daily walks... She was excited about me racking up the Frequent Flyer Miles and Hotel miles So we can take some free trips!!!
I am seriously considering it cause my current postion is boring now... I have basically automated all of my duties so all I do now is run a couple of applications that I wrote and sit back and wait for the results...

Did travel previously. It's okay, but I got tired of it. Lot of stress, espeically if you fly alot for work in a post 9/11 world, not too mention airlines going belly up.
I mean, it's one thing to plan a trip (vacation) to go on, it's another to have to do it for work, sometimes twice a week.
Good luck with the interview.

Travel 25-30% of the time. All over NA and Japan. It wouldn't be as bad if I were single. Gets old after a couple years. Oh I also have some experience with SAP (Sit and PLAY we knicked it) end user and internal setup. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!

not many people are experienced with SAP.. So it would be a great Resume addition...
I just got a reply from my GF about the interview, she is excited for me!!! More than likely the job is mine if I want it... The interview manager knows me quite well and my reputation proceeds me in the accounting and procurrment departments here at work...
