Default 91 rcsb step side $800=fun

the blazer i was looking at fell through, the guy had a friend offer to buy it and he sold it to him instead. but i found another deal, a friend of mine is selling his 91 rcsb step side v6 5sp for 800 and i think i will buy it. how hard is it to swap the v6 to a v8, either 5.7 or 6.0 and keep the 5sp. i want to fix up the truck to race it so i was thinking about going with a 700hp alcohol fed, carb beast of a dirt track motor a friend has but i think staying feul injected is what i want to do and be able to drive it around town also......what do yall think? hard to swap from 6cyl to 8cyl? any resources yall know of for the swap?

HERE'S A THREAD that tells you how to do the swap. If you are really thinking about 700 hp, you better find another tranny. The 5 speed won't cut it. I doubt that a T56 is good for that much power.

Good luck with your project!
