Default 2003 S-10 That im helping a friend mod.

My buddy that i work with has a 2003 S-10 Extreme RCSB, Its a nice lookin little truck!
It has a 4.3, 4L60E, 3.42s, turning 235/55-16 Coopers (which suck really bad!!!They are a really hard compound).

We went to the short track last tuesday night. It was pretty hot and humid.
I drove the truck because the guy had never seen how the Tree works.

( I dont have all the time slips, i can just remember the times. All the 60's were 2.4-2.5's)

Bone stock with a Flowmaster muffler and a K&N Air Filter (stock panel Replacement) it ran a 9.1x Twice.

So then i proceed to work on the tune a little bit... changed the timing a little, and uped the shift points to 5200rpms and added 5% shift pressures.
It ran a 9.0x twice.

So then i added a little more timing and shift points to 5500rpms.
ran a 8.9 twice...
Its pretty consistant so far..

During last week we cut the cats and ran a 2.5" pipe back to a 3" Magnaflow and dumped it over the axle. Monday night i threw a CAI on it for him and they went to the track with out me.

So its still got the same tune as when it ran a 8.9..
It was bogging at about 5300 or so and till it shifted, but the Intake and exhaust took care of that, it pulled to 5500 and never fell on its face..

He called me later on that night and he was excited,, it ran a 8.6x 3 times in a row and had a 2.4x consistant 60'. This is after i explaind to him how to work the Tree and the guys would direct him in to a lane and help him get lined up..

So with him driving it ran that good and consistant so thats not bad at all to go from a 9.1 to a 8.6 on a 500' Track (not 1/8th mile!!!)

thats with just a Cheap CAI, $150 Exhaust, and a simple Tune.

We are goin to hook up a LM-1 and tune for the fuel this weekend... so i imagine that it might get just a little quicker..

I was runnin my truck and his truck the first night... imagine the difference...

Mods next month are Superior Super Servos, TA Girdle, and Nitous....
Next winter,,, 5.3 or LS1? with a cam and whatever else he wants to get...

There is a guy at the track in a little red S-10... he said its stock with a Handheld, CAI and Exhaust and 3.73s. and my buddy stayed side by side with him.. and both of them ran a 8.6...

Where is my guy on here that has that Black S-10 with a 5.3?? I cant find him.. i think its a Extreme??

Ill have pictures of the truck this weekend... its yellow with 2 grey stripes..

Can't find him either, but that's a badass little truck.

Your friend will definately want to do a motor swap asap after he sees that truck.

TB spacer works just as good if not better than taking off your headlight,

not hard at all, take the tb off, take the screws out of the throttle shaft, open the blade to wot and pull it out of the shaft. i used a cut-off wheel to trim it off close then grinded the rest down on the bench grinder. DO NOT mess up the edge of the throtte blade, and make sure to put some locktite on the screws.
