I was talking to this chick online and I was typing the html code for the smiley's because I am a loser and she was like WTF, so i listed some of the common ones so that it would make a little sense.

Can you get a screenshot of what you're talking about.
If the sponsors banners weren't showing up in the past maybe your virus/spyware/browser software was blocking them. I had something similiar happen on my laptop and it turned out it was the McAfee antispyware settings.
