sss specs
#1
I was wondering if any one could help me find some specs on the ss silverado for an 06. I am looking for weight, gear ratios, stock quarter mile times, ect. ect. ect. Also would it be possible to get one in the twelves with nothing other than a supercharger kit, and still retain stock everthing else, plus be reliable? (if so what brand?)
thanks.
thanks.

I am going to guess the weight is some where around the 5000lb mark with driver. my awd is 5600lb with driver. Most of the sss come with 4.10 gear and locker and are high 14 sec trucks. as for getting it into the 12s with just a supercharger to my knowledge it hasn't been done. the ho vortec or the new 122 radix when it comes out will produce the best results on the lq9.

the lq9 needs to have premium be can be untuned for 87, the 06 have a 3.73 gear ratio ( all 2wd lq9 trucks do) the awd have 4:10s. getting into the 12's is going to take more than a blower kit, it will take the kit plus some bolt ons and maybe a cam!!

What kind of power can the motor take, and how good are the 4l65e trans? On top of a blower kit what type of bolt-ons are you guys talking about? Also is there any heads that are worth swapping or are these as good as they get( in a bang for buck point of view?) I am a complete newb with chevy motors. Do you guys do any kind of weight shaving?

If you add a blower and plan on bolting up some heads too(yes, worth the $$) you will be held back from your power potential due to the stock cam. Now with the cam you'll want to upgrade the converter... which will increase heat in the trans. That means shift kit+servos+larger cooler etc.
The best way to map your goal out is to specify what you want and the budget you have to get there.
I changed my mind from a Radix'd truck to N/A + N2O back and forth, but once I was set on building a solid N/A beast I added mods that compliment the last and am slowly meeting my goal of 12s N/A.
So we can give you all the info, specs, and parts but we gotta know the intent of the build and how far funds will stretch to hep you best. But that's JMHO

It has 600 miles on it, so just getting in to it. I would like to supercharge it, but will be in the future. For now I just want to do some simple bolt-ons, and beef things up. (trans if needed) I just like to know as much info on every thing that I can get my hands on. Could you guys maybe recomend a book for me. I also like first hand experiances from people, what works and what breaks. I love the truck alot though. It rides so nice, I am out there every night cleaning it up. (obsesively) checking for scratches and all. LOL
