also how could i get rid of the pcv and put breathers? and how would this help?

 

to remove the pcv you just remove all the lines/hoses that enter the motor from the valve covers. place caps over the ports on the intake and valve covers and install 2 breathers. one in each of the valve covers. PCV sucks vapors back into the motor which helps vent teh crankcase, but if the motor has any type of blowbye then oil from the motor will get sucked into the intake. once its sucked in the intake it then leads to the combustion chamber and can cause denotation. the breathers just vent the crankcase to the atmosphere, now there is a downfall. if your motor has any substanial amount of blowbye you could experience oil residue everywhere. in this case there is no help but to rebuild the motor.

 

or keep the pcv and add a catchcan. its more expensive but has good results and dosent have the oil residue problem like breathers have.

 

catch is a bandaid as well. if your motor is sucking or blowing oil past the rings then its hurt or has poor ventaliation. and a catch cam is a temp fix

 

so basically i would plug the intake on the drivers side, and install a filter on the back side where the hose drops in, then on the passenger side i would put a filter where the oil cap belongs?

I think your motor is fine just has some PCV issues as with most of the chevy motors in these trucks (strokers or stock). I would run a heavier weight oil and a catch can (or 2) first to see just how much oil is being sucked from your motor. Running 10W30 vs the 5W30 was noticeable for me in the oil consumption area since the motor (LQ9) was new.

If you do do breathers, I would run a log and see how removing the additional intake air stream affects your tune. You may need a tweak.
