So it appears i have a lifter that is failing. I have tried everything. It started making noise prior to the exhaust upgrade. I was hoping it was an exhaust leak butni have swapped out gaskets with no change.

So while i am in it i plan on doung some maintenace.

Lifters. Ls7 or Morels or jones.
New timing chain, mine was orety freaking loose last time i had it ipen
Timing chain dampener
Trunnion upgrade.
New gm water pump.

Tossing around the idea of swapping out cams.

way too many failures in mild to stock setups. I think some of it is guys getting complacent and not actually measuring for pushrods with them also, but no way to know.

Mine lasted like 80k with 2 different cams and 2 different heads and 2 diferent FI combinations. I say that is not bad. Now if i inly had 10-20k in them i would b pissed

I'd wager probably more of the latter. I've run them in every build I've ever done and no failures. Though I think only one of the cams I ran had more lift than the LS7 cam... Exceed stock specs, expect early failures I suppose.
