Got my oil pump, it's a Precision Oil pumps blueprinted Melling 10296. At least at this point I think I'll run the low pressure spring.

Everything looks killer. Can't wait for the results.

Couple of questions.

Who makes the paint products you use?
What are the advantages of the LS9 valve covers over stock truck covers?

PPG for good stuff and Duplicolor for rattle can stuff. The LS9 cover is more preference, but due to the design the oil baffle is higher above the rocker arms thus increasing clearance and reducing the oil vapor hitting the baffle. I also like that the coils mount without the ugly *** bracket.

I have not seen that info on the gm pump dropping flow at 6200rpm but find it very interesting. Do you mind sharing your source?

1st one I forget, 2nd I think is from melling. Apparently Melling makes the Gm replacement pumps. I don't know.

I've pulled several stock pumps to 7000-7800 for years with no issues.

Melling and cloyes are the two biggest suppliers gm has for timing guides gears and chains, oil pumps lifters and i do believe pushrods snd rocker arms.... Im sure there are other parts, but i have a set of melling lifters and a set of the gmpp ls7 lifters, side by side they are identical down to the what i am guessing is some sort of batch or date code on the side of the body of the lifter.... Biggest thing i found was price mellings about $10/each, gmpp were something like $30 a piece
