Default Wheel/tire size and tucking

Slap me if this has been gone over a million times, but I really feel stupid about tire size and tucking and backspacing and all these things. Can anyone help me out.

I have an 06 CCSB 4wd GMC which I would like to add some new wheels to. I would like to go 22" if I can float the cost, but if not then 20".

I would like also in the future to put a 2/4 drop on it along with removing the lift blocks.

I have come across a couple wheel/tire combos on ebay (just because it is easy to search there, not that I need to buy from there)

What do you think of these combos?

What would the backspacing/offset have to be on my truck?
What size tires are a good option for my truck?
Would these things look dumb until I got my drop installed?
Are these a good price?

Thanks...a little long winded.

I have 305/45s on my 22s with a 1.25" front drop and 2" rear (decrank and pulled the blocks). No rub except on the dr/ side front on the plastic covering the washer fluid tank, and that's only in reverse. No biggie. It won't look stupid even if you go w/ the 305/40s because they're the same overall diameter as the stock setup. A 9.5"/10" wide rim w/ somewhere in the 12-20MM offset range will be about flush w/ the fenders, anything in the 30-40 range will sit in the wheelwells more.

Thanks, that is the info I was looking for.

Would the ride even be noticable between 305/40 and 305/45 on 22's? Does the taller tire look better in the fenderwell to fill it up?

So a 40 MM offset would be inside the fenders so if I decided to go lower I would be ok?

9.5" wheel with a 6.5 backspacing should be what i am looking for correct?

Yeah, 40mm will be inside the fenders. My 9.5s are in the 5.7 BS/14mm offset range and they're about flush w/the fenders...w/ the tires on, the tires come out past the fenders a hair, so 6.5 should be OK. I think the 40s would be fine on a 2/4, I went w/ the 45s because this as low as I wanted to go so I wanted the wells filled up more. As for ride, you're only looking at an extra 1/2" or so of extra tire on the ground w/ the 45s so I think the difference is negligible.

So I am looking at 5.7 backspacing with +40mm offset on a 9.5 wheel. This will put the tire inside the fender if I go more than a 2/4 drop.

I think I might go with the 305/45's for the first set, then if I go lower I will get the 40's.

I think the Boss 315 is the wheel I am going with.
