Hey guys...I recently sold my 350Z and bought an '04 GMC RCSB. Feels good to be back in a truck as my first car was a '90 RCSB, which I lowered 5-6. Now, I don't want to go quite that low, but I do want to lower it 2" in the back.

I want to buy the Centerline Stingray III's and was just wondering what tire you all would recommend for the small amount of lowering I would like to do.

I was thinking 275/60/18 or maybe a 285/60/18. Please let me know your opinion as I have been out of the loop for a while and wanted to know what size tire people are running that don't have super short sidewall tires.

I was also looking at the Eagle Alloy Series 026. Anyone running these and have pics?

OK, scratch the 18" tire size. I just ordered a set of the 20" Stingray 3's. What size tire do you guys think for these? They are 20 x 8.5.

285/50/20
295/50/20, something like that?

some think 285/50s are a little too much tire for a 2wd but i like it

most go with a 275/45(what i have with a 2" rear drop) or a couple have gone with a 295/45

 

I agree that the 285/50's are a little tall for a 2wd. That's what I run, and they hurt performance and braking quite a bit. I'd go for the 275/45's personally, based on how the 285's perform on my truck. Weight and overall height really lug it down.

One of my buddies was telling me that he had to get something to put on the hubs of his wheels to put them on, but they weren't Centerlines. Anyone know if I need a spacer or anything to bolt these Centerlines up?

 

Like BADMOFO said it will hurt performance, get the 275/45 that is closest to stock diameter of 30" and if you got the right rims for your make and model the right backspacing is all that matters. I think the backspacing in 5,3/4" ,somebody correct me if I wrong so I don't screw everybody up.

I wanted them a tad bit taller than the stock size is on there to fill up the fenderwell, but...I think you guys are right about it hurting performance. 295/45/20 should get me about where I want to be I think.

 

You don't have to worry about the spacing or any fittment issues as all centerline wheels are hub-centric. I am running the same wheels and I'm on my second set of 295-45-20 tires. I like the ride quality better as well as the wider contact patch. I'll try to get some profile pics for you

 

Perfect, please do...I was wondering if they would be too wide for the 8.5" rim, but I guess not. What brand were you running. I was looking at the Falken.
