I am kind of in the same predicament. Trying to find mid series (55's) summer street tires and drag tires for 17" rims is impossible. I can find summer tires for the rims in a decent diameter, but I can't find drag tires for them unless they are super low profile. For instance General grabber UHP 275/55r17 tires I think would be perfect, 28.9 diameter fills the wheel well nicely. I can't find anything close in a drag tire that would fit a 17x7.5 rim. Any know the widest 29" dot drag radial in a 17" wheel? or even 28"+? I can't find any unless they are like 26" rubber bands.
